It is a no frill math program. Professor Weissman, the creator of Math911, states that very clearly on his website. No games, no animation. Just math. Which I like. I have mentioned many times that I try very hard to not let my kids get consumed with video games and TV. All of the stimulation is not good for their little minds.
I did find the program to be a bit old school in looks but the program itself is good. It does not "teach" you math but it does give wonderful practice with instant feedback.I started out at in PreAlgebra because well, its been awhile. I did pretty well for not touching any higher math for over 10 years. I found it kind of confusing to navigate at first but it didn't take long to figure it out.
The program is very basic. Not easy, just basic. You answer the math problem. If you are correct it tells you so. If you are wrong it shows you the correct answer. You can either go step by step through the missed problem to figure out where you went wrong or you can have a new problem. I like that the answers do not count against you. With this program you just keep going until you get it.
I would recommend this program for someone who likes math and likes doing it on the computer. It is a really great tool to have to refresh yourself or as an addition to your math program.
The program usually costs $49.95 but right now you can get it on a flash drive for only $9.95. It does not require internet access so that makes it a great tool to use on the go. It also comes with lifetime updates.
I would also recommend checking out what the rest of The Crew had to say about this program.
