Marshall Publishing is a wonderful resource to supplement your homeschool. They have a large variety of educational DVD's. For this review, I was given the Lewis and Clark DVD.
The DVD is a 35 minute documentary on the adventures of Lewis and Clark. We are not studying this subject right now so this was not a supplement to our studies. We got to watch it just for the sake of learning. We do not watch TV very often and when we do I try to stick with movies that have educational value. This movie was a great fit for us.
The movie is filled with live reenactments and rare photographs of the journey. There were also many educational maps that helped the children visualize where the events were taking place. Between the commentaries on the Indians and the breathtaking views of the Missouri Waterfalls it was easy to keep the whole family engaged in the movie.
I would highly recommend this to supplement your studies on Lewis and Clark or use it just like we did, for the sake of learning.
You can purchase this DVD for only $19.95 right now using the code TOS27. Also be sure to check out what the rest of The Crew had to say.
